Camping Pods
Camping Pods at The Quiet Site are timber built, insulated huts and are designed to be used just like a tent. However, unlike a tent, they’re completely ready for you to move into when you arrive on our small holiday park. With no tent to erect or pack away in the rain, your holiday has just become a lot less stressful!
Our Camping Pods are manufactured for us, in Cumbria, by a small firm in the South Lakes. They are the inspiration of a man known only as Ian. (Some say he has a slightly pointy head!)
Camping Pods are designed to accommodate the variable British weather, with ample ventilation for the hot days and lamb’s wool insulation for those chillier times of year. They are very much a wooden ‘tent’ for all seasons.

What's included
SLEEPING
A simple step up from camping, each Camping Pod offers a warm, dry and secure space to sleep. With a floor area of 2.3m x 2.7m, they’re ideal for 2 people, or 2 adults and 2 very small children. Just bring your camping mats or air beds, sleeping bags and anything else you’d usually use inside a tent.
BATHROOM
Camping Pods do not have private bathrooms inside, but guests can use The Quiet Site’s excellent shared facilities, including individual bathrooms and wash areas. You get the feel of a proper camping holiday with the comfort of clean, well looked after facilities close by.
KITCHEN AREA
Each Camping Pod is empty on arrival, just like a tent, so please bring your own cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery. Guests can also make use of The Quiet Camper’s Kitchen, and there’s food and drink available on site from The Quiet Bar and The Quiet Bite.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Each Camping Pod has its own decking area, giving you a lovely spot to sit outside, eat, relax or enjoy the views. It’s a great little space for morning coffee, evening drinks or simply soaking up the peaceful Lake District surroundings.
AMENITIES
Each Camping Pod includes a wooden floor, light wood interior, heater, mains light and small power socket for charging your phone. They are timber built, insulated with lamb’s wool and lockable, offering extra warmth, privacy and security compared with a traditional tent.
WHAT TO BRING
A unique stay
At The Quiet Site, our Camping Pods are a simple progression from a holiday under canvas. They offer a convenient alternative to the tent but retain all the ambiance of a proper ‘camping holiday’.
We do have some dog friendly Camping Pods. Please specify that you are bringing a dog at the time of booking.
Camping Pod stays offer great value. One night stays are available and cost from £40 per pod per night up to £75 per pod per night depending on the time of year.
Please note: Group bookings of up to two families/couples are only accepted after contacting the office. We reserve the right to decline a booking or charge a noise deposit.
